The children Charlotte and Felix emerge from the sea and play as their dead parents on the beach. It's a ritual the two have been practicing for years. In memory of their parents' wild exuberance, they put sunscreen on their backs and tickle each other until they can hardly breathe. For brief moments,all sadness falls away from them. Again and again, however, the different needs of the two ten- and eleven-year-old siblings break into the game.

For the 12th time running, Ballhaus Ost, HAU Hebbel am Ufer and Sophiensaele will be presenting the marathon among festivals: for four days straight over 120 productions will be shown on the hour, every hour. All three venues are throwing open their doors - the festival will be on all stages, in every courtyard, basement, lobby, foyer and attic. There will be something to see in every corner and the genres and themes couldn’t be more diverse. In the evenings the best DJs in the city will take over the lead and bloggers will reach out to the world. Be there live at 100° Berlin-Festival, the marathon, the runway, the celebration of the independent scene!
