In this exchange format, the Freischwimmen-groups die apokalyptischen tänzer*innen (Stuttgart), Rotterdam Presenta (Düsseldorf ans Brussels) and Gruppe CIS (Stuttgart) present their current projects for discussion.
The performance collective die apokalyptischen tänzer*innen approaches abstract contexts from an intersectional-feminist perspective, making them visible and experienceable on stage. Their new project Aria - die Mehrjungsfrau appropriates right-wing media strategies that operate with fears around the loss of masculinity, subjecting them to a ceremony that's both slimy and purifying and thus transforms them into feminism.
The core team of Rotterdam Presenta brings together artists from various fields and offers a platform that enables cross-disciplinary theatre discourse. For accident exercises, they set up a laboratory for accident training in the archives of an insurance company, in which they test the moment of a crash: What do we see when we freeze time at the moment of collision?
Since 2013, Gruppe CIS is a group of artists that adresses the effects of emotionally charged media settings on body realities and social scenarios. Their work operates at the interfaces of film, theatre and performance. The video installation Dark Daily Soap is a film without actors that inspires to question one’s own normative perception of reality and viewing habits, and to create space for the peculiar.
