FEBRUARY 21 – MARCH 06

In Figured and Flush, Sheena McGrandles explores radical temporality. With great attention to detail, Figured exposes the absurdity and artificiality of everyday gestures. Flush, following Gertrude Stein, breaks down linear and traditional forms of storytelling-perhaps even evoking a new lesbian temporality and aesthetic.

In an era of fake news and post-truths Störlaut searches for a form of non-verbal expression – real, direct and emotional. In a speculative, futuristic way this sound dance solo performance reinterprets the sound dances of Valeska Gert, a Berlin grotesque dancer of the politically unstable 1920s. Gert is considered to be the first sound dancer in the world. Jule Flierl completely absorbs her sound dances, roars, cackles, whimpers and squeaks, an articulation beyond today’s word capsules.
