Stones are lying on the ground. The back wall of the stage is covered in grey sackcloth, an old bin is growing ever more rusty. An out-of-the-ordinary choreography brings this literally raw environment to life. Seven children, an old woman and a middle-aged man: three generations are faced with difficult conditions and have to find their bearings. The children make head against the chaos whilst the grown-ups stay in the background. Next to the battlefield the musician Thomas Devos celebrates the courage of the small warriors.
In raw a community powerfully and courageously dances against adverse living conditions. Their movements are wild and boisterous. The play puts the children’s perspective at the centre of events and develops a thrilling beat.
