Stadtführung / Start im Hof - Ende U-Bhf. Gesundbrunnen
In German

The audio walk starts in the courtyard of Sophiensæle and ends at U-Bhf Gesundbrunnen. In approx. 1.5 hours a 5-6 km long, slightly ascending path has to be covered.

In a performative audio walk, hannsjana explore the East-West dialogue in Berlin as a pack of bears. Bears barely live to be 30 years of age and have as little memory of the German division as millennials like hannsjana have. So the artists slip into their bear costumes and get to the bottom of the prejudices and privileges that have seeped into their respective West and East German socialization. While walking with the audience along the formerly divided Brunnenstraße, they look for affiliations that can no longer be located accurately. While they are singing and dancing their critical westness and eastern rage off their souls, around 30 years after the reunification, there is a surprising new turn of events.

Since 2011 Laura Besch, Alice Escher, Jule Gorke, Lotte Schüßler, Katharina Siemann and Marie Weich have been creating performances and audio walks as the artist collective HANNSJANA. In their artistic work, they challenge existing assumptions and engage with places and spaces in a humorous, poetic, musical and scientific way in order to make them experienceable and explainable to themselves and others. They have been shown at the Nationaltheater Mannheim, at the Kunstfest Weimar, at Theater Thikwa and at the Museum für Kommunikation Berlin. At the SOPHIENSÆLE they most recently showed their audio walk Anstattführung.
