Auf Deutsch - in German
"You must start using your elbows now!"
For Tanja Krone, who was 13 years old at the time, this Post-Wende mantra was a significant signal for the end of the GDR. Almost 30 years later she asked parents, siblings, school friends and teachers what was meant by the elbow principle and brought the answers to the stage: three women from two generations, strange quotes and the soundtrack of a past that still has to be invented. Between genuine, falsified and borrowed memories of many, something new is carefully created.
