Schwald/Leuenberger wanted to be girls in their childhood. In the Switzerland of the 1980s, this led to a precarious existence similar to the experiences of their three female performers from southern India. Despite a lively queer scene and an Indian tradition that diverges from binary gender codes, the three have to fi ght as feminists, queer activists and transactivists for recognition and acceptance of their femininities. In four solos, they share personal experiences and longings that still shape their political struggles and their relationship to their own bodies today. An evening that celebrates resistance to the norm and pride in one‘s own femininity!
