Simone Dede Ayivi & Kompliz*innen:
Rebellkarussell

Simone Dede Ayivi & Kompliz*innen:
Rebellkarussell
Performance/video installation
German

Due to the Christmas market in Sophienstraße, the Sophiensaele cannot be approached by car on December 17, 2023.

Who owns the city, who do we commemorate and where is there room for utopias? Rebellkarussell is a video trilogy by Simone Dede Ayivi and Kompliz*innen. In an installative setting for the video preview, we can watch the final episode of the series on Afrofuturism come to life. It brings pre-colonial culture and mythology into futuristic worlds and builds bridges for rebellious time travelers. Infotainment with the simplest analogue means of theater – because everything can be better illustrated when it fogs and hisses, something spins or comes from the ceiling.

The information on accessibility is still in progress and will be updated as soon as possible. If any questions remain unanswered until then, please feel free to contact Hannah Aldinger at barrierefreiheit@sophiensaele.com or 030 27 89 00 35. Please note that details may change by the day of the event. Therefore, if you find out after you have purchased your ticket that the performance is no longer accessible to you, you can contact us for a ticket return at ticketing@sophiensaele.com or 030 27 89 00 45 until 5 business days after the event (Monday through Friday between 10am and 6pm).

Simone Dede Ayivi developed performances with her accomplices in cooperation with the Sophiensæle, the Künstlerhaus Mousonturm Frankfurt and the Festival Theaterformen. Among others, she directed at the Schauspielhaus Graz and the Theater Oberhausen. In 2022 she received the Tabori Award of the Fonds Darstellende Künste.
