With Amazonas Claire Vivianne Sobottke created a platform through which she provides grants to female artists in Berlin with the support of a foundation. In Amazonas #2, the choreographer Maria F. Scaroni brings together a temporary collective of mostly female artists to present their performative interpretation of Marge Piercy's classic anarcha-feminist Sci-Fi novel, Woman on the Edge of Time (1976) – a one-of-a-kind instance of the genre: The novel is a sketch of a potentially egalitarian, environmentally sound and gender-fluid utopian society. It wants to enliven our passion and courage for something possible but not yet present. The performance is followed by a DJ-Set by S Ruston, and the process is witnessed and reflected upon by journalist Astrid Kaminski.
