Amazonas #3

Amazons was the name given to women warriors who protected their territory themselves. With Amazonas Claire Vivianne Sobottke created a platform with which she provides grants to female artists in Berlin with the support of a foundation – all beyond the gender political limits. In Amazonas #3 Sheena McGrandles installs Bounty - a synesthetic room in which body and color are exposed through their insistence on radically slow gestures: a pastel colored soft porno, a slow drowning. The showing is followed by a discussion round with Astrid Kaminski and a DJ set by Lady Guacha.
