German Premiere

Thibault Lac – winner of the ImPulsTanz Young Choreographers' Award and known for his work with Mathilde Monnier, Alexandra Bachzetsis, Ligia Lewis and Trajal Harrell – brings his new solo performance Blue Roses to Germany for the first time.

In a camp reverie that embraces its sentimental edge, Thibault Lac ventures into swampy territory, at once repulsive and seductive. An array of ghosts, old-fashioned archetypes and contemporary mythologies intersect on the threshold of different temporalities. A subjective pantheon of hybrid fantasies unfolds, navigating personal and collective memories. Conceived as a poem collection, a herbarium or a flower bouquet, Blue Roses is composed, decomposed and recomposed in a dance that brings together the grotesque and melancholy.

Alongside, Lac dedicates himself to collaborative and interdisciplinary projects as an author: Fool’s Gold and Such Sweet Thunder, created in collaboration with choreographer Tore Wallert and composer Tobias Koch, was awarded the Young Choreographers’ Prize at Impulstanz Festival in Vienna. In the frame of the program “Artiste accompagné” by Centre National de la Danse, he co-authored the piece Knight-Night with Bryana Fritz. The pair will further their collaboration with a new project in 2025.
