Bodies of Care – Sophiensæle | Independent Theater in Berlin
Bodies of Care

With the exception of the performance by Rima Najdi, all events of the Frequencies festival are open to the public free of charge.
The Sophiensaele elevator is currently out of order.
The performance project Bodies of Care, a collaboration of young choreographers from Indonesia and Germany, invites the audience to a participatory exploration of the relationship between care and choreography.
Under the guidance of performance artist Melati Suryodarmo (Indonesia) and the media and performance collective LIGNA (Germany), the participants developed audio instruction choreographies, which were all performed in their respective residencies in Indonesia and Europe on 24 September 2021. The documentary videos created as part of this project provide an insight into the production process and show the creation of the performances as well as the meaning of community and care in ten different local contexts.
