A temporary society emerges on a Christmas market under the strict supervision of the market director. People here earn their meager incomes working as Santa Clauses, angels and market stall retailers. However, tensions are rapidly rising because all of the people have to give a cut of their sales to the market director. But when a young academic, who runs the skating rink, creates a technological turnaround there seems to be, for a short moment, a glimmer of hope for a better life. After the premiere at the Ruhrfestspiele the latest piece of one of the most in demand, young and upcoming, German language playwrights can be seen in Sophiensæle.
