Cristina Caprioli, from Sweden, is one of today’s most important Nordic choreographers. She has relentlessly investigated the in-between of choreographic practice and contemporary theory. This gives her work its particular characteristic, and has also inspired her to tour with an interdisciplinary symposium, CHOREO_DRIFT (also part of Tanz im August), based on her Weaving Politics Symposium of 2010.

This German premiere is about gestures that belong to no one. A speedy piece that blurs a hyper-clear thought, att att is performed by five dancers devoted to absolute accuracy of replication, which turns them into a ‘pack of spineless anthropomorphic speech-machines’. The piece is the outcome of a process of re-describing a series of set movement sequences informed by a poetic essay. The performers resist appropriative interpretation, and disembody themselves and everything in between through unconditional loyalty to the given.
