The performance is seen on the screen from home. In the self-presentation arena, the audience is the jury and raises or lowers their thumbs over the opponents. Reviews can be submitted remotely via smartphone from home. You will receive detailed information about online participation from home in a timely manner by email.
In Under Pressure, theatre collective Henrike Iglesias subject themselves to the pressure to perform. Three of the performers enter a competition, where they expose themselves to the audience’s judgment, while a voice from off-stage urges them on. The candidates have to deliver: Who can produce the most convincing show of tears, who will win the category “Best Lover” or who will come out on top of social comparison when the question is who stands to inherit the most? Is there an escape from the pressure to achieve? Through its increasingly absurd challenges, the piece questions demand for discipline and scrutinises the dictate of resilience, self-optimisation and stress resistance. In the version of Under Pressure presented at the 2021 Theatertreffen, viewers have the choice of taking part in the voting or merely watching the show.
