Bastard: a swearword for any situation and an antiquated term for illegitimate children. The dance trio around Martin Hansen adopts the facets of a bastard, identifies themselves with the unwanted, the inconvenient and the unfavorable – and looks at the history of dance. What is inherited, what is passed on? How is the canon formed and who constructs the linearity? The bastards pose the uncomfortable question, search for the marginalized and build a dazzling future.
