Olympia Bukkakis: Queer and Present Dangers/GOD – Sophiensæle | Independent Theater in Berlin
Olympia Bukkakis: Queer and Present Dangers/GOD
Life is a mystery. Everyone must stand alone. I hear you call my name, and it feels like…a brand-new edition of Queer and Present Dangers!
In an age of blasphemous obscenity, false idol worship, and profane consumerism, where are we to turn except our (suspiciously silent but definitely trans) Lord and Savior, the Girlboss-in-Chief, GOD? Yea, though we walk through the shadow of yet another CDU-SPD Bundesregierung, we shall fear no evil, but rather plunge headfirst into the sacred mysteries to ask: why do religions that profess forgiveness produce so many followers who hate us? Do we need a conception of the divine to guide us into a better world? And do cardinals really host the best chills?
Queer and Present Dangers is an experimental talk show series by Olympia Bukkakis that spends a lot of time on its knees, turns both cheeks, and prays hard for your salvation. For this edition, the topic is GOD, and we'll be joined by Oozing Gloop and Louise Trueheart, who'll help Her Holiness Olympia put together the show in four days.
