Sebastian Matthias:

Every single day we are part of a constant urban choreography. Diverse, highly sensitive abilities make it possible for us city dwellers to adapt to the various dynamics of our surroundings. Groove Space, is a research and performance series that begins as a collaborative project in Berlin, which will make layovers in the next coming months in Hamburg, Zurich, Freiburg, Düsseldorf, Tokyo and Basel. The research team develops the piece anew using collaborative methods with artists and audiences. How must an artistic space be created in order to bear all the expertise of the street and not to have it all be given up at the coatcheck?

After intensive dancing research about the dynamics of living and moving together in Berlin, the team surrounding Sebastian Matthias invite you to a presentation about the developed versions of space, sound and movement. The audience is invited to become part of the research team and to share their expertise as city dwellers and Berliners during the performances and the experiments afterwards in August.
