Tanzscout-Einführung – Sophiensæle | Independent Theater in Berlin
Tanzscout-Einführung
Every space has a so called „psychogeography“: The idea that once you enter a room, you immediately have a feeling for its measurements, its interior and how you can or want to move in the space. The term „psychogeography“ was coined by the avantgarde group of the Situationists who wanted people to get lost in foreign cities on purpose in order to expose themselves to new discoveries, experiences and encounters. This personal experience in (urban) spaces is at the core of Hermann Heisig's and May Zarhy's production.
During the Tanzscout introduction to the piece, we want to explore our own relationships with spaces and how we experience proximity and distance in them. How far can we move away from each other and still feel connected? We want to explore our voice: How far does it carry through a large space? What do we think about someone who is right in front of us talking much too loud? And we want to think about getting lost, GPS-systems and the moment, when we last came as a stranger to a new city.
