Nele Stuhler:
Mauerschau

Mauerschau
The Berlin Wall stood for 28 years. 2017, the Wall has no longer existed for 28 years. Nele Stuhler was born in East Berlin on the exact day the Berlin Wall was built in the year the Berlin Wall came down. She has been raised next to the remains of the Berlin Wall. In 2017 Nele is just as old as the Berlin Wall was. Annual commemorations of the Berlin Wall have been part of her birthdays like cakes, candles, and summer. Her grandmother calls her Wall-Nel.e. She likes to read Christa Wolf, who has asked 28 years ago: How does life happen? Nele asks herself the same thing.
