ACTIVATION/TraininG camp
JunE 30 | 18:00 + 21:30
JulY 01 | 19:00
Due to limited space, we recommend arriving early for the training camp.
Rest Rebellion sets up a space for rest in a low-stimulus environment. The project stems out of the refusal to grind the body for capitalism - owing a huge debt to the sick and dis/abled people and not stopping the reward of exploitative and destructive behavior. Angela Alves creates a collective rest and resistance situation in order to dive deep into the power of quitting and embody a rebellious rest practice, far from self-care and depression. The quiet space is activated at specific times with a training camp that participants practice while lying down, guided by the choreographer.
INVITATION TO THE Trainingscamp IN GERMAN SIGN LANGUAGE (DGS)
During the training camp, physical practices from trauma work will be offered that deal with internalised oppressions.

ARTISTIC DIRECTION Angela Alves DRAMATURGY AND ACCESS SUPPORT Agnieszka Habraschka
A production by Angela Alves in co-production with SOPHIENSÆLE within the frame of Leisure & Pleasure, supported by the Capital Cultural Fund. Media partners: Arts of the Working Class, Berlin Art Link, Kulturplakatierung, Missy Magazine, Rausgegangen, tip Berlin, taz.die tageszeitung.
Angela Alves lives as a choreographer in Berlin and identifies as a crip artist. Her artistic practice focuses on political dimensions of the unavailable body and explores its transformative potency in classist and ableist pre-structured spaces. Alves translates access into performative formats and questions perceptions of “healthy” and “sick”. She studied dance at ArtEZ (NL) and dance theory at Freie Universität Berlin.
