Dance, stunts and water spirits at Müggelsee: Since 2020 Florentina Holzinger and team have been presenting musical-performative experiments in public space. These so-called “Etudes” have so far taken place on parking decks, streets and urban squares. Now, the upcoming Etude – the KRANETUDE – goes to a popular Berlin excursion destination for the first time, matching the summer feeling: the lakeside resort (Seebad) Friedrichshagen. Here, a choreography for eight bodies and a crane on the water is created to the composition of the musician Katharina Ernst for multiple percussion. This KRANETUDE searches for new presentation contexts for dance, connects to research on feminist approaches to the element water and explores possibilities of a “technical” theater in water. On a moving sea, the composition sets the rhythm in harmony with the mechanical gears. Florentina Holzinger’s works continuously push the boundaries of theatrical illusion and real action, dance and stunt act, entertainment and high culture. At the end of the Leisure & Pleasure festival and the conclusion of the last season under the artistic direction of Franziska Werner, the Sophiensæle present this special happening at Berlin's Müggelsee.
