Tanztage Berlin 2020
JANUARY 08 – 18
Every year in January, Tanztage Berlin provide a platform for the city's emerging choreographers. In the 29th edition, queer-feminist and postcolonial perspectives intertwine to form a complex reflection on today.
In eight premieres and two guest performances, the artists question the structures of our society and contrast them with their own narratives. They look at the colonial dance heritage with a non-European gaze and create their own decolonial movement practice. Beneath the hypermasculinity of martial arts they find queer vulnerability and in school uniforms the anarchic power of transgression. For selected performances, live descriptions and touch tours will be offered for blind and visually impaired visitors and for the first time at Tanztage Berlin, there will be Relaxed Performances in a laid-back and sensorially relaxed atmosphere.
AFTER SIX YEARS AS FESTIVAL DIRECTOR THIS is ANNA MÜLTER‘S FINAL EDITION AND WE are happy TO CELEBRATE IT WITH HER!
WITH Areli Moran, JUCK, Caner Teker, House of Living Colors, Lois Alexander, Maque Pereyra, Sasha Amaya, Frida Giulia Franceschini, Amirhossein Mashaherifard, Suvi Kemppainen + Josefine Mühle, ZTB e.V. and more
