Vincent Bozek: à Chacun Sa marotte
The solo that Vincent Bozek choreographed specifically for Orlando Rodríguez is a finely tuned piece in which every movement is carefully placed – a treat for fans of movement composition on an empty stage. Exuberance and earnestness are delicately balanced, as are the aesthetic conventions of contemporary and classical dance. The choreography is not an act of defiance, but rather an affectionate fusion of opposing value systems. The Frenchman, who met Orlando Rodríguez during his studies at Folkwang University, achieves a physical critique of society that doubles up as a self-reflection.
"Bozek’s solo for Rodríguez plays on the edges of humor and seriousness, of classic and contemporary. The multiple changes of energy highlight the many faces of the bourgeoisie. The piece offers a refining, fictional (?) look into the social codes of high society, juggling with nuances in body language. Rodríguez constructs a presence / distance that fools the audience and, at the same time, captivates it." - Vincent Bozek

Juliana Piquero: Surviving_Fragment I: EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE IN THIS SPACE IN BETWEEN
In this first part of the trilogy Surviving, the choreographer from Buenos Aires puts herself center stage. Juliana Piquero’s precise movements are paired with industrial lighting and sound design. She shows us a world in which bodies exist in space as particles woven into structures. She works skillfully with constraints, with an almost rule-based system, out of which she nonetheless finds ways to move. The potentiality and vitality of every moment is made visible through movement loops. From the here and now it could continue like this, or like this, or this. The result is masterful instability.
Juliana Piquero is an artist who consistently implements her vision. During her time in Berlin she found a group of artistic colleagues to work with. Among other things, this successful collaboration led to the Stockholm Award for Innovation in Performance 2013 for Surviving_Fragment I.
„What can we have more in common than a body? What happen if there is no body to interact with? It is a utopian world where collaborative processes are expressed within an abstract structure between movement, light and sound. It is an atmospheric journey through different physical conditions. “everything is possible in this space in between” is a path in which we undertake obstacles and use them as potentiated vitality.“ -Juliana Piquero
