German premiere

On March 13, the virtual talk format Talking Together - On Air will take place after the show, starting at 8:00 p.m. You can participate free of charge from the comfort of your home.

UCHRONIA is a remake of our world. In his new performance, Vincent Riebeek explores the origins of dance and humanity itself by reinventing different scenarios for existing creation stories. Using collages and tableaux vivants, the performers invite the audience to imagine what might be possible. The piece begins with the mystery of the origin of the world and asks the question: what if God were a transwoman? Would we move differently if we had a different understanding of where we come from?
On stage, four dancers go through all the somatic stages of development while a god-like female figure in the sky makes them witnesses to the creation of the universe. What follows is the unfolding of the changing paths of human (d)evolution of the four performers, whose reality is one in which normative rules do not apply. In UCHRONIA – which literally means "no time," but is also related to utopia as "no place" – we forge the future we want. At the same time, the piece is an urgent call for radical self-love, because Everybody's got to own their body!
