We want anything but becoming like our parents. And while we are trying to escape the fatherly fate we are already the spitting image of our mother. Societal processes are similar. Although we are convinced to have learned our lesson from history, we are carrying the can for previous generations’ mistakes, and while we are doing this we are making more mistakes. Can we negotiate the biographical duties and societal deals that bind us? How can they be broken, renegotiated or voided? What can we do? This edition of the Freischwimmer Festival shows new models for political art, tells alternative stories, offers a way out of normative relationships, forgets manners and fights for equality between fathers and their daughters!
