Fatima Moumouni
Fatima Moumouni writes texts (spoken word, rap, theater, columns) and performs on stage (text performances, moderations, post-foreign late-night show) and lives in Zurich. In addition to solo performances, she tours with Laurin Buser, currently with the spoken word piece COLD. In 2022, the two were awarded the Salzburger Stier. They wrote the plays Bullestress (2022) and Ich chan es Zündhölzli azünde (2023) for the Schauspielhaus Zurich, and a version of Räuber Hotzenplotz (2020) and Die weisse Madonna von Einsiedeln (2026) for Theater Basel. Moumouni also contributed texts to the plays Last Night a DJ Took My Life (2024) by Joana Tischkau at the Schauspielhaus Zürich and Leyla.Fragmente by Miriam Ibrahim at the Staatstheater Hannover. Moumouni also devises talk formats, such as her series of discussions Die Neue Unsicherheit (The New Uncertainty) – a plea for more uncertainty on stage as a catalyst for progressive discourse. In 2023, she received the City of Zurich’s Cultural Award in the category of dance/theater.
