The Unbestimmte Bewegung is a collective of artists from various disciplines engaging with marginalized social spaces. Its aim is to give a voice to the indeterminate and thereby bring often-overlooked social moments into the light—without any wish to resolve their ambiguity.
Nicolaas van Diepen studied at the Otto Falckenberg School and from 2014 appeared as a guest at the Berliner Ensemble in Robert Wilson’s Faust I & II. In 2018 he was named young actor of the year by Theater heute for swing. dance to the right (Aktionstheater Ensemble) and nominated for the Nestroy Award. Together with Carina Riedl he developed Fluss im Bauch in the DR Congo, and in 2020 he played Schernikau in legende at the Volksbühne Berlin. He is a founding member of Die Unbestimmte Bewegung, works across disciplines and writes poetry and prose (in part under the pseudonym niko).
Elena Kaufmann studied comparative literature and philosophy in Munich and Paris and works as a freelance dramaturg and author. She writes poetry and prose and works multimedially with text-image and video. Her artist’s book Dear world you have made the persons slow (São Paulo/ Berlin: COISAS QUE MATAM, 2021) has been exhibited internationally. Her poetry collection Hiat Heute, in which she examines perception in the information age, will be published in 2027. She lives and works in Berlin.
Yannik Böhmer began in the independent scene before working as an assistant director at the Deutsches Theater Berlin, where he also created his first productions for young audiences. He completed a master’s degree in theatre directing in Zurich under Nicolas Stemann. Alongside his graduation project Einige Nachrichten an das All by Wolfram Lotz, he explores new formats at the intersection of theatre and video art, among them Zombie TV (Zürcher Theater Spektakel) and Remote Together (Gessnerallee, Ballhaus Ost, Theater Rampe). Since 2022 he has held a fellowship in the Performing Arts Section of the Akademie der Künste Berlin.
Erik Leuthäuser is a young singer and composer working at the interface of jazz and experimental pop, increasingly using the German language. He lives in Berlin and studied jazz vocals with Judy Niemack, among others. His debut album In the Land of Oo-Bla-Dee was nominated for the Preis der deutschen Schallplattenkritik in 2015. He has sung backing vocals for Quincy Jones, George Benson, Dee Dee Bridgewater and Jacob Collier and recorded albums with jazz legends such as Ken Peplowski, Alan Broadbent and Kurt Rosenwinkel.
Shlomi Moto Wagner is a performer*, opera singer*, songwriter* and drag queen, alias Mazy Mazeltov. Born in Israel, she studied at the Tel Aviv Music Academy and the Manhattan School of Music (MA in Interdisciplinary Arts). As an opera singer* she has performed with orchestras worldwide. She has lived in Berlin since 2012, working with opera ensembles and experimental theater makers such as Philine Rinnert and Johannes Müller. She is the founder of House of Mazeltov, explores voice, gender and identity through performance, and has presented works including Salvation and ADAMA: secret life of stones.
Tim-Fabian Hoffmann was born in Rheine. Since completing his acting studies at the Mozarteum Salzburg he has worked freelance in theater, film and television. Engagements have taken him to the Schaubühne Berlin and the Living Dance Studio Beijing, as well as regularly to the Schauspielhaus Bochum and the Stadttheater Ingolstadt. In the feature film Desire Will Set You Free (dir. Yony Leyser) he appeared in one of the leading roles alongside queer icons such as Peaches, Nina Hagen and Amber Benson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer). Lasvegas (dir. Kolja Malik) was also released in cinemas across Germany in 2024.
