PATRICIA TICINETO CLOUGH ist Professorin für Soziologie und “Women’s Studies” am Graduiertenzentrum und dem Queens College der City University of New York. Sie ist Autorin von Autoaffection: Unconscious Thought in the Age of Teletechnology (2000); Feminist Thought: Desire, Power and Academic Discourse (1994) und The End(s) of Ethnography: From Realism to Social Criticism (1998). Sie ist die Herausgeberin von The Affective Turn: Theorizing the Social, (2007) und zusammen mit Craig Willse auch von Beyond Biopolitics: Essays on the Governance of Life and Death (2011). Die Arbeit von Clough bezieht sich auf theoretische Traditionen, die sich mit Technologie, dem Affekt, unbewussten Prozessen, dem „timespace“ und der politischen Ökonomie auseinandersetzen. Aktuell befasst sie sich mit dem Ecstatic Corona: Philosophy and Family Violence, einem experimentellen Schreibprojekt, das sich auf Ethnografie und historische Forschung stützt und sich mit dem Stadtteil Queens in New York beschäftigt, dem Ort, an dem sie aufgewachsen ist.
